Oregon Contemporary has an exciting position available for a Gallery and Marketing Coordinator. This position may be shifted to 2 positions to fit the candidates skills or interests. Onsite hours are required for the most part for this job, occasionally WFH may work for a few hours per week.
Part time, 18-27 hours a week, including gallery hours of Friday plus Saturdays and/or Sundays. At least one weekend day each week, 2 preferred. Job begins the week of February 3rd. Salary is $20/hour or higher DOE.

The essential duties of the role(s) are as follows:
Administrative work including input of programming survey information and attendance counts into spreadsheets, signage formatting and printing, and answering general inquiry emails. Other admin support as needed.
Marketing including social media content creation and posting, weekly+ Mailchimp newsletters, website updates, monitoring all social media channels, answering press requests, and coordinating with partners and artists to create/share promotions.
Sit the front desk and work with any docents to provide a friendly, helpful environment for all gallery and shop visitors. Set up, light cleaning, and maintenance for open gallery/ shop hours. Shop Ox online management and orders processing and packaging/mailing.
Events and tours- Give tours of event space for prospective event bookings as needed. Booking/hiring event coordinators and site managers. Set up help for events on occasion.
Our preferred candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Customer service skills for galleries and/or retail.
Contemporary art knowledge, including proper handling of art, language for marketing and speaking with visitors, and more.
Experience with marketing and social media for business, particularly galleries and/or nonprofit arts organizations.
Experience with data input and/ or accounting could potentially be helpful.
